Male Infertility

Male Infertility

Male infertility can be caused by low sperm production, abnormal sperm function, or obstruction that prevents sperm release. Illness, injury, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices, and other factors can contribute to male infertility. Not being able to have a child as a father can be stressful and frustrating, but there are many treatments for male infertility.

Symptoms

The main sign of male infertility is the inability to conceive a child. There may be no other obvious signs or symptoms. However, in some cases, underlying problems such as hereditary disorders, hormonal imbalances, dilation of veins around the testicles, and conditions that prevent sperm passage can cause signs and symptoms. The signs and symptoms you may notice are:

  • Pain, swelling, or lumps in the testicular area
  • Recurrent respiratory infection
  • Can't smell
  • Hair loss on the face and body, or other signs of chromosomal or hormonal abnormalities

Male Infertility Treatment

  • Physical examination of men including scrotal scan
  • Sperm feature tests
  • Sperm DNA Fragmentation Index Test
  • Zona binding assay
  • Genetic testing: sperm karyotype analysis and chromosomal abnormalities
  • Acrosome intact test

Semen analysis should be done with abstinence for 3-5 days if possible. Usually, we use the semen evaluation effect to compare efforts when present in men. Seed evaluation involves two main components: gross and microscopic examination. We strictly adhere to the WHO manual (5th edition).
